Disclaimer and purpose.

What Call for Solutions is, what it is for and — just as importantly — what it is not. Plainly, with no ambiguity.

Call for Solutions is a project by Fondazione Tech Care, born as part of the Festival della Robotica. It is a space that connects the real needs of people with disabilities with those who can turn them into technology and those who can support them.

01 Purpose of the site

The site has one underlying purpose: to bring together the demand for and the supply of technological solutions for the independence of people with disabilities. It collects real needs, makes them public in a clear, standardised form, and makes it easier for those who have a need, those who can develop a solution and those who can fund it to get in touch. In essence it works as an agency that connects people, not as an organisation that carries out projects.

02 Our goals

  • Giving a voice to the authentic needs of people with disabilities, collected directly from those who live with that condition.
  • Making proposals visible and comparable, with uniform cards that anyone can read and assess.
  • Speeding up connections between proposers, developers (such as Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna and the University of Pisa) and potential supporters.
  • Highlighting the ideas people care about most through community ratings, which help priorities to emerge.
  • Ensuring accessibility: everyone can take part in writing, by voice or with a video, or get help filling in the form.
  • Safeguarding people's dignity: we describe needs with respect, never in a pitying way.

03 What we do and what we don't do

What we do

  • We collect and validate proposals.
  • We publish them in a public showcase.
  • We put the interested parties in touch.
  • We show estimated costs and how much has been raised.

What we don't do

  • We neither collect nor manage funds.
  • We are not a crowdfunding platform.
  • We do not develop the solutions ourselves.
  • We are not a party to agreements between the parties.

Any financial, development or collaboration agreements are made directly between the parties involved. Call for Solutions remains a neutral facilitator.

04 Ownership of ideas

By submitting a proposal, the author accepts that it may be made public and shared with potential developers and supporters. Publication does not guarantee any financial reward or attribution of authorship: ideas may be taken up and developed by third parties, and the site does not guarantee the recognition of rights or royalties to the proposer. This point will be set out in detail in the terms and conditions, currently in draft.

05 Data and privacy

The data controller is Fondazione Tech Care. Data entered in the forms are processed solely for the purposes of the project and on the basis of the user's consent, which can be withdrawn at any time. We never make public who financially supports an idea. For details see the privacy policy.

Important note. This website is a demonstration draft. The legal texts (privacy, terms), the data on the ideas and the contact details shown are realistic placeholders, to be finalised with our advisers and with the project's official references before publication.
